Joe has a big appetite. He can eat a large piece of lemon meringue pie after a meal of salmon with all the trimmings. A second or third helping of potatoes is no problem at all. But most of all, Joe has a big appetite for life. Everything he bites into, from charting the stars, teaching himself to fix T.V.s, and catching fish, to sharing what he knows and has with friends and family, he does with relish. Yes, he could swallow an entire girl. But like the whale that swallowed Jonah, he would deliver the passenger safely onto the shore, no worse off for the wear and much obliged for the fun along the way.
